A Top 100 legacy, shaped by more than 50 years of leadership
When our founder, David Stare, set out to craft an aromatic white reminiscent of those he loved in France’s Loire Valley, his search led him to Clarksburg — a hidden gem in the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta. There, rich soils and cool Delta breezes create ideal conditions for Chenin Blanc to thrive. Among the first to recognize the region’s potential, Dry Creek Vineyard has partnered with the Wilson family for more than 40 years to produce a single-vineyard wine that Food & Wine calls “a perennial overachiever at its price.” Crisp, dry, and refreshingly versatile, our Chenin Blanc continues to embody the pioneering spirit that defines our winery — a legacy underscored by our 2023 vintage being named to the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2025.
Join President & Second-Generation Owner Kim Stare Wallace and wine journalist Dan Berger as they share how this beloved variety became a cornerstone of our family legacy, from Founder David Stare’s Loire Valley inspiration to our enduring partnership with the Wilson family in Clarksburg.
The cooling breezes and well-drained soils of the Clarksburg AVA make it California’s premier appellation for Chenin Blanc.
This single-vineyard bottling is sourced from Wilson Ranch, multigenerational grower partners for more than 40 years.
Moderate alcohol, pure expression with no oak and residual sugar below the threshold of perception make for a food-friendly and refreshing wine.
