| Since the mid 1980's, when the winery first put
a sailboat on their wine
labels, Dry Creek Vineyard wines have
become known as the wine for sailors.
As founder, David Stare and daughter and son-in-law, Kim
and Don Wallace travel around
the country selling wine, the stories are always shared.
Essentially they boil down to this; folks taste the
wine, love the taste, and are able to find it on wine-store
shelves due to eye-catching, tasteful artwork.
"It's the one with the sailboat," they say.

| This is true and, yes the
original commissioned artwork for
each varietal and each vintage for single-vineyard wines is
quite lovely...
The connection to sailing is visible in a number
of ways, including their national sponsorship of US SAILING,
support for regional regattas, past sponsorship of Around Alone Race victor, Brad Van Liew and Regatta
wines brand development in conjunction with their sponsorship
of US SAILING. In addition, every year since 2000
they've hosted the Dry Creek Vineyard Pro Am Regatta at the
Bitter End Yacht Club in the British Virgin Islands.
If you're a fan of sailing and you like wine,
you likely know about Dry Creek Vineyard. If not, we're
glad you visited this part of our web site. Now you
know. Cheers!
