Sales of Dry Creek Vineyard’s New Regatta Label
Support Young American Sailors

Dry Creek Vineyard has launched a new white wine that will be sold in the winery’s tasting room beginning July 1, 2001. Twenty percent of the full retail price of $10 will be donated to US SAILING for their educational and training programs.

The 2000 Regatta bears a contemporary label with three modern boats sailing downwind, spinnakers flying. This image reflects the refreshing, easy drinking wine contained within. A limited release of only 500 cases, Regatta is a perfect summer wine for both sailors and landlubbers.

The governing body for the sport of sailing, US SAILING is a member-based organization that promotes the sport’s growth with the support of volunteers and member organizations. The money donated to US SAILING from the sales of Regatta will be used to fund much-needed programs for developing young sailors.

Dry Creek Vineyard, located in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County, produces a full range of classically styled wines, all of which celebrate sailing through the depiction of classic sailing yachts on their labels.

Sailing on a Dry Creek? A lifetime passion for the winery’s founder David Stare and his family, sailing has become undeniably linked to Dry Creek Vineyard through the wines’ nautical labels. Now, the winery has taken one more step by supporting US SAILING through the sales of Regatta white wine.

Last year, the winery released Regatta red wine to support American sailor Brad Van Liew and his Around Alone campaign. Dry Creek Vineyard also supported the Acura SORC this year and has joined Rolex in their involvement with many international sailing events.

“As a family who loves to sail, it is wonderful to be able to give back to the sport that has enriched our lives so much,” said winery Vice President Kim Stare Wallace. “We look forward to a long relationship with US SAILING.” “We’re proud to partner with Dry Creek Vineyard,” said US SAILING President Dave Rosekrans, “and we thank them for their commitment to the sport of sailing and US SAILING. I encourage everyone to support Dry Creek, both in the purchase of Regatta white and their other fine wines.”
