Dry Creek Vineyard Continues Annual Sponsorhip
at The Bitter End Yacht Club
18th Annual Dry Creek Vineyard Pro Am Regatta
For the fourth year, Dry Creek Vineyard will be the title sponsor of
the popular Pro Am Regatta at the Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda,
October 30 – November 6, 2004.
Dozens of amateur sailors attend the weeklong Dry Creek Vineyard Pro Am to sail with the top professional sailors in the world. The "pros" are both Junior and Master Skippers and include top names in the sport. Ed Baird (3-time Pro Am winner), Carol Cronin (2004 Olympic Sailor, Yngling), Russel Coutts (3-time America’s Cup winner, skipper of Alinghi), Andy Burdick (Top Midwest Inland Lake Sailor), Betsy Alison (Five time Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year, world’s top ranked woman sailor), and Peter Holmberg (Match Race World Champion and America’s Cup Helmsman) will all be there. They’ll be joined by Lowell North (Founder of North Sails and Olympic Gold Medallist), Rod Johnstone (2000 Winner), Butch Ulmer (1999 Winner), Keith Musto (The U.K.’s best known dinghy sailor), Tom Leweck (2002 Winner, the famed "Curmudgeon" of Scuttlebutt), and Peter and JJ Isler (the Honorary Regatta Chairs).

Wines from Dry Creek Vineyard will be served at various functions throughout
the Pro Am event. Winery owners Don and Kim Wallace will be on hand both
competing on the water and leading wine tastings and hosting a winery
dinner on shore.
For any sports enthusiast, this is like fantasy football, but live. It
is a sailing fan’s ultimate dream regatta. It puts some of the greatest
sailors in the world in a single spot at a single time. In addition,
it's a week that is served up to guests with delicious glasses of "the
wine for sailors," Dry Creek Vineyard.
The winery not only sponsors
the Pro Am Regatta at the Bitter End Yacht Club, they also created a brand,
Regatta by Dry Creek Vineyard, that donates a portion of profits to US
SAILING, the governing body of the sport in the United States. Brad Van Liew received their support as well in his quest to win the Around Alone
race.
