On April 10, 2006, David Stare, founder of Dry Creek Vineyard, formally announced his retirement. With Dave stepping aside, his daughter, Kim Stare Wallace, and son-in-law, Don Wallace, will take over the day-to-day operations at the winery. Dave was a true pioneer in the California wine industry. To learn more about what made this maverick winemaker tick, read the articles below by clicking the thumbnails.

Choose RED wine instead of RED roses for Mom this Mother’s Day! Our 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect gift for Mom.  After all, Mom likes a good glass of red wine, too! This vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Dry Creek Valley, is rich and full-bodied with flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, currant and spice. The tannins are soft and fleshy. The finish is balanced and friendly, and this wine is great with food.  Try it with one of our featured recipes: Pan Roasted Filet Mignon or Dry Creek Steak Cabernet (click Featured Recipes at top).

2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
Dry Creek Valley

Just released!   The previous vintage received a 91 point rating from Wine Enthusiast (see left).  This vintage is sure to follow suit.  Rich, exotic and distinctive, this Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a beautiful bouquet of black stone fruit and ripe currants – a trademark of Dry Creek Valley Cabs. The tannins are well integrated and broad, providing additional depth and complexity.
